Resin Unit Converter
Convert resin between fluid ounces, milliliters, liters, gallons, grams and pounds. Weight and volume are linked by the density of resin, which you can change to match your product.

- Enter an amount and choose its unit, for example 16 fl oz or 500 g.
- Leave the density at 1.1 g/ml, or enter the value from your resin's data sheet.
- Read every other unit in the results, by volume and by weight.
Why density matters
Volume units (fl oz, ml, gallons) and weight units (grams, ounces, pounds) are linked by density. Water is 1.00 g/ml, so 1 ml of water weighs 1 gram. Mixed epoxy is heavier, usually 1.08–1.20 g/ml, so 1 ml weighs a little more than a gram. This converter multiplies volume by density to get weight, and divides weight by density to get volume.

| Volume | Milliliters | Weight |
|---|---|---|
| 1 fl oz | 29.6 ml | 32.5 g |
| 8 fl oz (1 cup) | 237 ml | 260 g |
| 16 fl oz | 473 ml | 520 g |
| 32 fl oz (1 quart) | 946 ml | 1,041 g |

Frequently asked questions
How many grams are in an ounce of resin?
One US fluid ounce of mixed epoxy weighs about 32.5 grams, based on a typical density of 1.1 g/ml. Check your product's data sheet for its exact density or specific gravity.
How many ounces are in a gallon of resin?
A US gallon is 128 fluid ounces, or about 3,785 ml. A "1 gallon kit" often means half a gallon of resin plus half a gallon of hardener.
How many ml are in 1 kg of resin?
About 909 ml at a density of 1.1 g/ml. Resin is heavier than water, so 1 kg is less than 1 liter.
Why do grams and milliliters not match for resin?
Grams measure weight and milliliters measure volume. They only match for water. Epoxy is about 10–20% heavier than water, so the same volume weighs more.
Is a fluid ounce the same as an ounce on a scale?
No. A fluid ounce is volume (29.57 ml). An ounce on a scale is weight (28.35 g). One fluid ounce of epoxy weighs roughly 1.15 ounces.
