Common questions
What is the easiest resin for beginners?
A 1:1 epoxy resin by volume is the most forgiving: equal parts are easy to measure, it has a long working time and it cures at room temperature. Start with small molds such as coasters before larger pours.
How much resin do I need?
Multiply length × width × depth in inches and divide by 1.805 to get fluid ounces, then add about 10% extra. The Epoxy Resin Calculator does this for any shape.
How long does epoxy resin take to cure?
Many epoxies can be demolded in about 24 hours and reach full strength in about 7 days at 70–75 °F (21–24 °C). Check your label: times vary by product, and cold rooms slow curing down.
